Passiv sp\u00e6ndingss\u00e6nkning stabiliserer ikke sp\u00e6ndingen som ved aktiv sp\u00e6ndingsregulering, men f\u00f8lger de variationer der er i forsyningssp\u00e6ndingen.
\nL\u00f8sningerne foruds\u00e6tter derfor, at man via forunders\u00f8gelsen sikrer, at sp\u00e6ndingen (gr. variationer p\u00e5 nettet) ikke p\u00e5 noget tidspunkt kan komme for langt ned.
\nKorrekt projekteret er passiv sp\u00e6ndingss\u00e6nkning en meget kosteffektiv l\u00f8sning, da anl\u00e6ggene dels er v\u00e6sentligt billigere i anskaffelse (v\u00e6sentligt simplere opbygning) end de stabiliserede l\u00f8sninger og dels ogs\u00e5 laves i mindre systemer der i st\u00f8rrelse kan d\u00e6kke fra privatboligen op til de st\u00f8rste industrier.<\/p>\n

F\u00e6lles for de to typer sp\u00e6ndingss\u00e6nkning (aktiv- og passiv) er, at typisk vil det v\u00e6re s\u00e5ledes, at jo \u00e6ldre installation \u2013 og jo st\u00f8rre andel af forbruget der udg\u00f8res af lys, \u00a0jo st\u00f8rre besparelse.<\/p>\n

F.eks. kan man ved passiv sp\u00e6ndingss\u00e6nkning i en gammel installation med almindelige lysstofr\u00f8r med magnetisk ballast (og glimt\u00e6nder) typisk opn\u00e5 en besparelse p\u00e5 mellem 25 og 32% – samtidig med, at lysstofr\u00f8rene f\u00e5r\u00a0godt fordoblet deres levetid, hvilket ofte ogs\u00e5 vil give en betragtelig besparelse i forbindelse med udskiftning og vedligehold.<\/p>\n

L\u00f8sninger til Passiv sp\u00e6ndingss\u00e6nkning kan leveres fra sm\u00e5 en-fasede l\u00f8sninger p\u00e5 900W (svarer til ca. 6 dobbeltr\u00f8rs-armaturer med 2x58W lysstofr\u00f8r) op til de store 63 Amp. \u00a03-fasede systemer.<\/p>\n

Det bedre alternativ i forbindelse med “rene” lysinstallationer:
